This first installment of Windows Live™ Messenger for Nokia Messaging includes tabbed chat windows, the ability to call directly from the buddy list, and notifications of new messages that pop up while the application is in the background making multitasking even easier. ‘Invisible’ login is also an option, which means you can sign in to Windows Live™ Messenger but still appear offline to your friends – making it easy to choose who you want to talk to. Familiar desktop features such as grouped contacts, emoticons and sounds are also available.  

The Nokia E72 is the first device that comes with Chat and support for Windows Live™ Messenger, while the Nokia E63, Nokia E71 and Nokia E75 require a download of ‘Nokia Messaging for IM’ from Ovi Store. The findings of the study conducted by Nokia Research Center, Sesame Workshop and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop were unveiled today at the Breakthrough Learning in a Digital Age forum by Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary E. Knell.

Nokia Research Center (NRC) Tampere today extended its open innovation partnerships to include a new frame agreement with University of Tampere. This new agreement will recognize and formalize the co-operation between the University of Tampere and NRC, especially in the areas of human-technology interaction, games research and context-aware media.

Nokia today announced the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, device that follows in the footsteps of the million-seller Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and now comes with lifetime voice-guided DRIVE and WALK navigation licenses, quick access to the latest Ovi Maps software, full regional maps and easy zooming, all with familiar Nokia touch UI and brilliant 3.2 inch widescreen. The latest version of Ovi Maps (www.maps.ovi.com) includes a number of new features such as high-resolution aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities, terrain maps, weather service, premium travel and events content and traffic and safety warnings. Plans for 2010 – 2012 include a major outdoor exhibition tour to all key European cities, a large-format coffee-table book in multiple languages and AV shows throughout Europe.
