Calling all mobile gamers: ‘Mythical: The Mobile Awakening’ - second round of testing with prizes

The experimental pervasive massively multiplayer mobile game ‘Mythical: The Mobile Awakening’ is now in its second round of testing.

Following the first round of testing the game has been polished up and the game has more features. The second round starts on 14th December 2007 and will continue until February 2008. There will be 40 Amazon.co.uk gift tokens worth £15 awarded to players drawn at random from amongst those who fill out the online questionnaire before January 14, 2008.

The Next Episode of Entertainment

You may have heard about the recent research results (press release here) we published around digital behaviors and emerging entertainment trends, in particular the idea of ‘circular entertainment’. We predict that 25 percent of entertainment by 2012 will be created and consumed within peer communities. Loud, Bright, Fast, Small, Beautiful, Durable, Green – Nokia launches competition to source innovative hardware solutions for mobile.

Nokia recently announced the opportunity for innovative companies to win the chance to open contract negotiations to supply Nokia. The Technology Innovation Competition is seeking innovations with particular focus on miniaturization, enhancing device performance and reducing environmental impact. Entrants must submit a descriptive technology abstract together with key differentiators and its advantages including fact based indication of the maturity level and application areas and be ready to apply their solutions to the mobile market.

The competition has four streams:

  1. ‘Mobile Multimedia Experience’ seeks innovations in the areas of audio, camera and display technologies
  2. ‘Future Device Architecture’ demands innovations in processing speed and energy consumption
  3. ‘User Interfaces’ requires innovations that boost intuitiveness and haptics
  4. ‘Touch and Feel’ is looking for innovations in look & feel, form factor, durability and movement

Three finalists will be selected from each of the four streams. The 12 finalists will be invited to participate in an innovation exhibition at Nokia headquarters in Finland in April 2007 where they will demonstrate their innovations and discuss them with Nokia decision makers.
